This sequence of courses is offered fall (CHI502), winter (CHI503) and spring (CHI504). This course is designed for the advanced student who possesses sufficient oral and writing skills to analyze and discuss literary and non-literary texts. This sequence explores a variety of topics, including environmental issues, media, and the central dichotomy between the modern and the traditional of China. The course work helps students attain a more sophisticated level of speech and writing. Resources include film/video clips, news segments and short stories. This sequence prepares students for the Advanced Placement exam in Chinese.
