Description

This course examines people who live in the developing world and the impact of modernization and industrialization on their ways of life. Students gain a better understanding of the social, political and economic issues confronting many developing countries today as peasant peoples face and respond to the challenges of the modern institutions and technology. Students are also introduced to the skills necessary for the study of history and the social sciences. This course makes use of the library and engages in a discussion of contemporary social and political events.
